AAG 2016

It has been great to be in San Francisco for the 2016 American Association of Geographer’s Annual Meeting. I gave a talk on the Institutional Rhythms project in a session run by Rachel Macrorie and Matt Watson on ‘Reimagining ‘Smart’ and Low-Carbon Urbanism‘.

There were talks from Stewart Barr (University of Exeter) on the role of behavioural change in tackling high-carbon mobilities; Nikolas Thomopoulos (University of Greenwich) on green urbanism and mobility management; Rachel Macrorie (University of Sheffield) on a systems of practice approach to low-energy housing; and Matt Watson (University of Sheffield) on infrastructuration and everyday cycling.

Excellent discussions and food for thought all round! San Francisco wasn’t too bad either…
